Jag och uno hade satt upp en maskin "berling" som gick som "kioskdator" nere på Kulturen i Lund. Efter nästan ett helt läsårs pålitlig drift fick jag för mig att logga in på den och kolla läget. Uptime var då plötsligt bara 11 timmar, men burken hade inte bootat om på evigheter. Det visade sig vara exakt 256 dagars uptime, men dagräknaren i uptime verkade tydligen bara vara en byte?

Felrapport till Sun gav officiellt BugId 1242705. Efter ett par dagar kom den officiella fixen, som står att läsa mot slutet av bugginfon:

One of our SS20 systems with Solaris 2.4 on it just passed 256 days of uptime
(it last booted on July 3 1995), and this made the uptime weird:

Summary:
Systems running Solaris 2.4 that have been running for more than 255 days will
