Recipe: 00276 Title : Sour Cream Chocolate Chip Brownies Author: Date : August 1995 _________________________________________________________________________ These recipes come from The Brownie Experience by Lisa Tanner, Ten Speed Press, PO Box 7123 Berkeley, CA 94707 (1984) ISBN 0-89815-135-X. It is my favourite brownie cookbook and contains many scrumptious recipes. Sour Cream Chocolate Chip Brownies - 1/2 c butter, softened - 1 cup sugar - 1 egg - 1 cup sour cream - 1 tsp vanilla - 2 cups flour - 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa - 1/2 tsp baking soda - 1/2 tsp salt - 1 cup chopped chocolate chips (I don't bother chopping them) Preheat oven to 375F. Butter a 13x9x2 inch pan. In a large bowl cream together butter and sugar. Beat in egg, then sour cream and vanilla. In a small bowl, stir together flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Gradually blend dry ingredients into creamed mixture; mix well. Fold in chocolate chips. Batter will be fairly stiff. Spread (relatively evenly) in pan. Bake 20-25 minutes until toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean. Cool completely in pan. Sift powdered sugar over top and cut into bars. Makes 32 brownies. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=- _________________________________________________________________________
