FINDCLK Version 0.0 [For IBM-Compatibles] Finds The Generic Hardware Clock On PC and XT Class Machines Freeware from Kirk Lawrence When invoked from the CP/M-86 command prompt, FINDCLK locates the port address of the generic, battery-powered real-time hardware clock in a PC or XT class IBM-compatible computer, and reports it on the screen. Generic PC/XT hardware clocks are almost always located at standard port add- resses 340h or 240h. However, some proprietary hardware clocks may be located at non-standard addresses. If FINDCLK doesn't find a clock -- yet an inspection of the machine's interior reveals the actual physical presence of a hardware clock -- that clock is pro- bably proprietary, and using a non-standard address. Such proprietary clocks generally require custom software from the manufacturer in order to access them. FINDCLK.CMD is free. As is alway the case with "freeware," there are no guarantees whatsoever. If you use the program, you do so entirely at your own risk and peril. Your use of FINDCLK.CMD shall be prima facie evidence under law that you understand and accept these terms and conditions.
