SEEBURN Version 0.1 - Makes Screen Phosphor "Burn" Visible (for color or mono) Freeware from Kirk Lawrence CP/M-86 Edition SEEBURN allows you to easily see any phosphor "burn" that might have occurred to your CRT (screen). At the prompt, type SEEBURN and then press the ENTER key. Your entire screen will be illuminated. Examine the screen for "shadows" or outlines of text or graphics. If you find any, you're probably abusing your monitor. Press any key to exit SEEBURN. The most common mistake made by unknowledgeable computer users is to have the brightness and contrast controls turned up much too high...to where the screen "fluoresces" with over-saturated color. This not only "burns" the screen rather quickly, but it's also very hard on your eyes! To prevent screen "burn": turn the brightness and contrast controls down to about the mid-way point. Slowly turn up the brightness control to where you can comfortably read the screen. Then slowly turn the contrast control until you get good definition, without any over-bright fluorescence. Re-adjust the brightness control (downward!) if appropriate. Finally, always use a "screen saver" program when you leave the computer. Never leave the screen illuminated when you're not actually using it. SEEBURN.CMD is free. As is always the case with "freeware," there are no guarantees whatsoever. If you use SEEBURN.CMD, you do so entirely at your own risk and peril. Your use of SEEBURN.CMD shall be prima facie evidence under law that you understand and accept these terms and conditions.
