OFF is a manual screen blanker specifically for Herc monochrome (and compat-
ible) video systems.  When invoked from the CP/M-86 command prompt, OFF
"turns off" the Herc screen, then waits indefinitely for a keypress.  When
any key is pressed, the screen is "turned back on," with the screen contents
restored to exactly the way they were when the screen was "blanked."

OFF checks the active video adaptor to make sure that it's a Herc-compatible
monochrome card.  If an active color video adaptor is found, OFF will abort
with an appropriate error message.

OFF.CMD is free.  As is always the case with "freeware," there are absolutely
no guarantees of any kind whatsoever.  If you use OFF.CMD, you do so strictly
