PINIT.CMD - A CP/M-86 Utility To Initialize The Printer Ports. Freeware from Kirk Lawrence (September 1994) PINIT, when invoked from the command line, initializes all three printer ports (parallel ports) on an IBM-compatible computer, just as CP/M-86 does when it first boots up. If you don't have three printer ports installed, that's okay. PINIT simply initializes whichever printer ports DO exist. PINIT can be handy as a command-line "remote control" for your dot-matrix printer. Initializing the printer ports with PINIT accomplishes 3 things: 1) It resets your printer to factory default parameters. 2) It sets the printer "on line" if it's off line. 3) It moves the print head over to the left side of the platen. If you have more than one printer connected to the computer, these effects will be manifested on all the printers...assuming their power switch is on. If you find this program helpful, you may use it at no charge. As is always the case with "freeware," there are no guarantees. You use PINIT.CMD strictly at your own risk and peril. Your use of PINIT.CMD shall be deemed prima facie evidence under law that you understand and accept these terms and conditions.
