(The normal precaution of working on a program copy should be observed when using either of these patching schemes.) WSGEMINI.PAT is an interactive program which will lead you thru the WINSTALL installation of patches to WordStar which will make available, thru normal WS internal commands, all three type pitches in the standard, italic and doublewide modes as well as super- and sub-scripts in each mode. WSGEMPAT.SUB will more simply make all of the above patches as well as `lose' the MICROPRO `painted' screen during sign-on and change the strikeout character from `-' to `/'. Assemble on one disk DDT.COM SUBMIT.COM XSUB.COM WS.COM WSMSGS.OVR WSOVLY1.OVR WSGEMPAT.SUB WSGEMPAT.TST and place in drive A. Upon A0> enter SUBMIT WSGEMPAT . Then CRT will report in order activation of XSUB, DDT, each substitution required for the patches and finally the SAVEing of the patched version of WS.COM. (This could be renamed to something like WSX.COM temporarily until tested.) To test the patching use WS to print WSGEMPAT.TST. To review the commands for the patched functions they are: ^PQ Pica | ^PW Elite |Each of these cancels the previous one ^PE Compressed | ^PR Cancel either super- or sub-script ^PY (1st use) select italics ^PY (2nd use) cancel italics ^PA select double wide ^PN cancel double wide ^PX (1st use) activate strike-out `/' ^PX (2nd use) cancel strike-out ^PT select super script use: ^PT(text)^PT^PR (both ^PT and ^PR required to cancel.) ^PV select sub script use: ^PV(text)^PV^PR ^PF Phantom space ^PG Phantom rubout (see note at end of WSGEMINI.PAT) A.
