PSTAT PSTAT is a PBBS utility designed to display the various settings within PBBS. These are the settings you chose when assembling a bulletin board system. Many times during the assembly of your BBS and the various support utilities used on a remote system, you will have had to refer to many, many pages of printouts to get the address of a particular byte in low memory or to get the name of the file you deceided that you'd use as an exit alias. This prolongs the installation of your system. PSTAT will make it possible to examine all of those user defined settings. As a PBBS utility, PSTAT must be assembled with your headers and linked with the latest version of PBBSUBS.REL. PSTAT was designed around PBBS 4.5 headers and therefore requires version 4.5 or later to operate. Example: Assembly using SLR SLR PSTAT100 (If SLR default source extent is .MAC) Linking using SLRNKP SLRNKP PSTAT100/N,/A:100,PSTAT100,PBSUB413/S,/E This program will operate in one of two modes. You may specify a selected option on the command line or elect to run in the menu mode. In both modes, there is a complete help screen available. SYNTAX: PSTAT -or- PSTAT /o Options: A - Access Tables B - Drive/User Bitmaps D - DU: Selections E - Entry/Welcome Files F - Mail Folders I - INDEX.PBS Information L - Low Memory Addresses M - Message Statistics O - Operating System and PBBS P - PBBS Internal Settings R - Restrictions S - System Files V - Version Number & System Information Z - Z-System ? / - Help X - Exit (Menu Mode ONLY) When called with one of the above options, PSTAT will display the needed information and exit to the operating system. If no options are supplied on the command line, PSTAT will run in the menu mode of operation. While running under menu control, the selected information is displayed giving the user a 'Press to Continue ... ' prompt and when done control is returned to the menu processor. PSTAT requires that BYE be operational and, with certain options selected, PBBS be running. Some information, such as that in low memory, do not make any sense unless PBBS has set these bytes. In these cases, a check is made of the REENTR byte to see if PBBS has been loaded. If this byte is not set, the user will be given an error message and when loaded in the menu mode, operation is returned to the menu processor. If in the option mode, control is given back to the user by exiting to the system. NOTICE PSTAT is hereby released into the public domain, while ownership remains with Access Programming. You may feel free to distribute this program to anyone interested as long as this notice and the programs credits remain intact. Access Programming will continue to support the development, and maintain compatibility with PBBS. Any suggestions for modifications must be sent to the system below. Access Programming will not support changes made to PSTAT unless they have been cleared by the author. As a program released into the public domain, PSTAT is not to be sold or packaged as an incentive to purchase any other product without the prior written permission of it's author.
