EXKERMI1.COM Submitted September, 1986 by Paul Woodie (Woodie @ Dockmaster) For a long time, I tried unsuccessfully to find a version of Kermit that would run on my Osborne Executive. Finally, I found a version of Kermit, written in Turbo Pascal, that was for generic CPM 3.0. I modified it to directly address the Osborne Executive hardware serial modem port. It is available under the name EXKERMIT.LBR. By that time, I had become enthuiastic enough about Kermit that I also tried my hand at writing an assembly language machine-dependent overlay for my Executive. EXKERMI1.COM is the machine-independent version 4.05 with a custom overlay for the Osborne Executive. It can use EITHER the MODEM OR the PRINTR port at a variety of line speeds. It is supplied in Intel HEX format so that you must convert it to a .COM file using HEXCOM, LOAD, or some other similar conversion program. Have fun!
