DCAT.DOC - Documnentation For DCAT program DCAT10 9/8/85 DCAT By Lew Edinburg Sunnyvale, CA The DCAT program is intended to be used with the MCAT disk catalog program. While the XCAT program (which is already in the public domain) gives a listing of the files with a cross reference of what disks on which they are contained, it is frequently useful to have a listing of all files grouped by the disks on which they are contained. The DCAT program gives such a listing. The program will read the file MAST.CAT and print the results out to a printer. If the listing of files for a single disk would go over a page boundary the program will not start them until it goes to the next page. The listing is printed with a wide left margin to allow hole-punching for a notebook. The program was cannibalized from another program so there is much room for improvement in the programming. The initial release of the program assumes that the file MAST.CAT has been set up so that at most one file name has been skipped when the MCAT program catalogs the disks. It should not be too difficult to modify the the program to be more flexible in this area.
