CONVERSION PROCEDURE FOR PRE-VERSION 4 MESSAGE FILES

The following procedures are only for those wanting to convert pre-
version 4 message files to the version 4 format.  If you are starting
fresh with QBBS4 then disregard these instructions.


STEP 1:

QCONVERT.BAS, an MBASIC program, is used to convert pre-version four
message files to the version four format.  The conversion is only to
change to end of message file marker from '9999' to '32000'.  This
will allow messages up to 32000 before it will be necessary to
renumber them.

    TO USE:

    Place QCONVERT.BAS in the drive/user with the rest of the QBBS
    data files.  Enter MBASIC QCONVERT and each message file will be
    converted with an appropriate message displayed.


STEP 2:

    Use the 'B' option of QUTIL to build the index files.  You should
    do so for each active message file.


You are now ready to run QBBS4!
