SHUTUP Version 0.0 - Turns Off A "Stuck" PC Speaker Freeware from Kirk Lawrence Every now and then, the PC's speaker gets "stuck" ON, generating a continuous sound, with no way to stop it except by rebooting the computer. This problem usually occurs as a result of prematurely terminating a program which generates sounds through the PC speaker. Well, now it's no longer necessary to reboot when the speaker gets "stuck." Simply invoke SHUTUP from the command line, and blessed silence is immediately restored! Please note: SHUTUP is not a PERMANENT "speaker silencer." It's merely a one-shot instruction to the computer to "turn off" the speaker if it's "stuck" ON, and generating a continuous tone. Once silenced by SHUTUP, the speaker will then behave normally. SHUTUP.CMD is free. As is always the case with "freeware," there are NO guarantees whatsoever. If you run the program, you do so entirely at your own risk and peril. Your use of SHUTUP.CMD shall be prima facie evidence under law that you understand and accept these terms and conditions.
