BOGUS Version 0.0 - Create "Fake" Files On Disk (For IBM-compatible computers running CP/M-86) Freeware from Kirk Lawrence BOGUS lets you create "fake" or false disk files. The files created are not truly fake, since they actually DO exist, and show up as directory entries...but they're "fake" inasmuch as they're 0-length files; there's nothing in them...they're completely empty. Why would anyone want to create bogus files? I have no idea! The BOGUS user interface is interactive. Once you're in the program, you may create as many "fake" files as you wish. When prompted, simply type in the file name(s) that you want to create. BOGUS displays in color on a color video system, yet it's also 100% monochrome-compatible. To run BOGUS: At the prompt, type BOGUS and press the ENTER key. All messages and prompts are displayed in a "dialogue box" in the center of the screen. BOGUS is totally intuitive; just read the messages and follow the directions which appear in the "dialogue box." BOGUS will not over-write existing files. If the file name you type already exists, BOGUS will display a message to that effect, and tell you to try a different file name. => NOTE: BOGUS does NOT support drive letters or user area numbers in the file name you type in. The "fake" files are always created on the current drive, and in the current user area...so DON'T try to specify a drive letter or a user area number when you enter a file name. BOGUS.CMD is free. As is always the case with "freeware," there are NO guarantees. If you use the program, you do so entirely at your own risk and peril. Your use of BOGUS.CMD shall be prima facie evidence under law that you understand and accept these terms and conditions.
