SETCLOCK Version 0.1 [For PC/XT-Class IBM-Compatibles] Generic PC/XT Hardware Clock Setter Freeware from Kirk Lawrence SETCLOCK sets the generic hardware clock/calendar in many PC and XT clones to the current CP/M-86 system date and time. To set the hardware clock: first, manually set the CP/M-86 system clock to the correct date and time using your favorite system clock-setting utility (such as TOD.CMD, NEWTOD.CMD, etc.). Then, run SETCLOCK. That's all there is to it. SETCLOCK transfers the CP/M-86 system date and time to the hardware clock. SETCLOCK works with the generic add-in clocks that are commonly found in 8086/ 8088-based PC- and XT-class computers. These clocks use standardized hardware port addresses of 240h or 340h. SETCLOCK automatically locates your clock at either of these addresses. If your computer's clock is located at a non-standard hardware address, or if you have a proprietary clock that needs specialized clock-setting software (such as the Dallas Semiconductor "Smartwatch," for example), then SETCLOCK won't work for you. If you aren't sure about your particular clock hardware, go ahead and run SETCLOCK anyway. If the clock in your computer isn't compatible, SETCLOCK will exit with an error message, and no harm will be done. SETCLOCK.CMD is free. As is always the case with "freeware," there are no guarantees whatsoever. If you use the program, you do so entirely at your own risk and peril. Your use of SETCLOCK.CMD shall be prima facie evidence under law that you understand and accept these terms and conditions.
