PREG45 Pbbs REGistration version 4.5 is a registration program designed to work in conjunction with PBBS. Assembly requires only minor changes to the source code in setting EQUates to suit your system requirements. You will need to have both of your header files available from PBBS version 4.5 and your BDOSHDR.MAC file. All of the necessary settings from PBBS are included at assembly time. To link you will need to use the SYSLIB.REL file included in the library. See the information in the notes in the source code for the instructions on assembly and linking. PREG will need to be placed in an exit alias on your PBBS system. Everytime a user drops to the operating system, PREG will check the registration byte to see if it has been set. If not, the user will be asked if they wish to register at this time. An answer of NO will log the user off the system. NO unregistered users will be allow access to the operating system. If the user proceeds with the registration process, PREG will get the information needed for the registration and place it in a text file compatible with DBASE. This should make the manipulation of the registration files a little easier. When the user finishes the registration, PREG will update the registration byte in the user record and they will never have to see PREG again! To use the file, enter DBASE and create a database with the fields and field lengths shown in the source code. Then use the append command to read in the file... USE filename APPEND FROM filename.txt SDF At this point you will have a database that you can sort, index or otherwise manipulate at your discretion. I hope that other SYSOPS will find this a usefull program and include it in their arsenal of PBBS utilities.
