August 14, 1987 This library file contains the Line Display v.5.17 programs: KPLD517.COM - for Kaypro with graphics (1,2X,4,10) KP2LD.COM - for Kaypro II (without graphics screen) KPLD517.MAC - the source code (with graphic features) The reason for reissuing this program is to provide users with the latest source code of Line Display (KPLD517) and a (new) version for Kaypro users without the graphics screen. The PURPOSE of the program is to make examining ASCII files easy. The graphics version will show WordStar boldface and underlining on the screen. Both versions reset bit 7 so that those curious (graphic) WordStar symbols are filtered out. To use: if unfamiliar with this program, type A>kpld (cr) Since no file was requested, you'll be prompted for one. Instead of a file, type ?. This will give you a menu of commands. The menu can be called while review a text. I've used the program virtually everyday for years. It's a kludge but it's been useful. Hopefully, others will find it useful as well. Someone may wish to improve the program, such as by adding a small editor, so that it will still be a fast ASCII file viewer but small changes can be made to that file. To conserve space, the files (with the exception of this one, which was "squeezed") have been "crunched" and must be "uncrunched" before using. The source code is written in Z80 code and assembled with Microsoft's M80 assembler. I'm always happy to discuss programs with others.
