Table II contains benchmarks using the extra RAM as a RAM disk. All are disk intensive tasks and are primarily sequential. One would expect the RAM to do even better on tasks involving random disk access. My system has a 5 MHz clock and twin QD Mitsubishi floppies with 3 msec step time. The disks were initially empty and each test was preceded by a DIR command. \x\c\f1\_Table II\_\f2 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ramdisk Floppy Space occupied by 35 short files 150K 204K CRC on above files 11 sec 42 sec SAVE 4 x 32K files 2.5 sec 66 sec Time for 30 warm boots 30 sec 57 sec -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Copy 35 files using PIP Ram to Floppy to Floppy to Floppy Floppy RAM 135 sec 183 sec 47 sec --------------------------------------------------------------------------
