SAMPORT.DOC Sample portfolio (samport.csd) is a spreadsheet portfolio. It has been setup to run under the Calcstar shipped with most Kaypro's. It is an excellent way to keep track of your portfolio gains and losses, dividends, annual percentage increase or decrease of each stock, increase or decrease from purchase price, and many other features. I do not take full credit for creating Samport. Samport is a modification of the "Spreadsheet Portfolio Evaluator" by Andrew T. Williams as published in AAMI Journal, 1984. I have rearranged some of the fields, rewritten the formulas for the Calcstar format, combined three tables into this two table arrangement and added the "sold " portion of the spreadsheet. The sheet is setup for 10 stocks to be entered into the portfolio. If you have more or less simply copy or delete rows in the sheet. In several cells "?n?" appears as a place holder because calcstar does not like to divide by zero. When the sheet is being recalculated a value range error will come up on the screen. It seems simplest to just push the space bar than to try to eliminate all the space holders. If any of you know how to "fix" this inconvenience I would appreciate it if you would leave me a message on Datacom1. There is no formula for the column "Anulized Dividend" because I could not convert the DOS formula and make it fit the limited space allowed for a calcstar formula. Here is the DOS formula: If(AA19>0,4*AA19,IF(Z19>0,4*Z19,IF(Y19>0,4*Y19,IFX19>0,4*X19,0)))). This is another "problem" where I could use your help. In the lower portion is the area called "STOCKS SOLD: ADJUSTED FOR SEL COMISSION". When a stock is sold it is copied from the upper table into this lower table and provides a record of that transaction. I found it helpful to subtract any selling commissions from the "Curent Price" column before recalculating these rows. These results are a more accurate view of net gains. There are several words that appear misspelled in the sheet. That was done so as not to make any of the fields wider than necessary. Samport will not fit on one side of an 8x11 sheet of paper. It will fit on both sides of an 8x11 sheet turned sideways and printed at 15 characters per inch and 160 characters wide. Print in segmants of A1-S27 and U1-AJ27. I hope this spreadsheet is useful to you and I would appreciate any comments you have concerning it. Bob Gordon
