OATLANDS TAS 27-3-'88 Helo Again, If you're at all like me you're probably reading this AFTER you've had a play with the main file. No Problem.... Here's a few pointers to enable you to get the most out of PAMS. First of all I'd like to thank a few people: JOE WRIGHT Who wrote AREA10 the inspired me on to greater heights ERIC MEYER For writing VDE ,a great LITTLE word processor used wholly for writing this and editing the source. ALL SYSOPS OF PUBLIC BBS,"S Without whom we'de be in the Dark Ages of Computing. And Me Mum and Dad for having me...woops getting carried away a little here All "technical" type information is given in the source code (supplied). The following are just a few ideas for getting the most out of PAMS. Due to the way STD area codes are set up in this country you will get some strange outputs when using PAMS. For instance Entering <07> for Brisbane area will result in ALL the entries for Queensland being presented. The way to overcome this is to enter <07 SPACE>. This will produce ONLY AREA codes of 07 and not 075 etc. Using 07 will also report on numbers containing 07 e.g. 123-0789 This can't be helped (YET). It is not essential to input AREA codes. You may also submit PART of a telephone number, part or all of a BBS name or even a modem speed. Say you've just bought a TRAILBLAZER (luck you I cry) and you'de like to know who you can call to try it out. Just type PEP at the prompt and you will be presented with a summary of all BBS's running PEP style protocol. PERSONAL TOUCHES ================ NO, I'm not being vulgar. Yoy may if you wish add your own personal telephone directory/address list at the end of the source code and re-assemble.Just be sure to follow the proper syntax to get a neat screen dump.Explanations are in the source. hope you like it.... Mike
