The StarWars portfolio by Ralph McQuarrie

Lucas described to McQuarrie the prospect from the cliff when the Mos Eisley spaceport is first in view. Luke Skywalker, clearly seen as a girl in the painting, was behind a winged landspeeder. This elaborate vehicle became somewhat more streamlined in the film. The full bubble was retained, but was always kept open to a half-bubble for convenience in filming.
