At dusk Han Solo mounts his Tauntaun and heads out in search of Luke. The turret, with its gun tower and laser cannon, is manned by a Rebel who guards the ice cave entrance. This is a strategic location for the Rebel Alliance stationed on Hoth. This glacial entrance leads to the X-wing fighter hangars and the newly excavated corridors that make up the base headquarters.
